"As announced earlier the APBA will allow all Yamaha SuperJets to race in Stock Ski classes with a dry pipe and hull extensions. Specific rules regarding this change have been added to the new rulebook. The APBA will also allow Yamaha SuperJets to run an OEM WaveBlaster II metal gasket so that Technical Directors may inspect the watercraft without requiring the racer to purchase a new head gasket each time inspected."

Just looked at the updates to the rules for 07 and noticed this. Did they allow dry pipes last year? I thought that last year it had to be a wet pipe or isn't this a change. Just wondering how competitive a now "Stock class" legal superjet would be. Also I believe stock class allows 800cc so you could run a 760 in the superjet and still be stock class legal, right? If this is true I might build up my squarenose and race the novice stock class (vintage class isn't very fun when only you and three others are on the line!).

Thanks,

Pete

Stock class allows up to 850cc if you read the rule book from front to back

however you would not be allowed to run a 760 cylinder
you could bore it to that size but thats all

And its a wet-pipe with no water injection that they are allowed to run. Not a Dry Pipe. A properly tuned Dry-Piped super-jet with hull extensions and a halfway descent rider could run circles around an SX-R.
