I spent four months in Turkey in 1994 while I was in the Air Force and did not see ONE stand-up the whole time I was there. I even spent three weeks in a resort city on the coast (Antalya) and really expected to see some there.

I was still riding a 550 then and was salivating at the opportunity to ski in the Mediterranean Sea.

The dudes in the video have it going on! :bananapowerslide:

The Air Force frowned on bringing hashish home with us.

I DID see some of the "vendors" who roamed the street peddling it, however.

I should dig out some pics, but I don't currently have a scanner.

how did he keep his hat on underwater!

I was wondering that myself.. must be pretty damn tight or glued on!:eek5:

Everytime I think of Turkey the country, I think of that move "Midnight Express".. I think that's the name of it anyway. Great movie and a true story. For those that havent ever seen this movie, its about a guy that tries to smuggle some hashish in a belt like thing around his stomach and get busted trying to fly out the country on a commercial jet. This was like back in the early 70's? late 60's? cant remember. Anyways he goes to a nasty Turkish prison for a long time. I not gonna say anymore if you havent seen it..

In LA there is a radio show called Mark and Brian and they had the real life guy that the story was about on their show for a interview. It was very interesting to listen to him talk about it.
