sxi pro ,40mm mikuni jetting setup?

i have a kawi with stock engine, msd ignition, v force reeds, factory limited pipe and coming this week a skat swirl 9/17, the carbs are the stock 40mm mikunis i kept the stock mains (147.5) and changed the pilot from 67.5 to 77.5, needle and seet stock and the 80g stock spring, The top is blazing and the bottom is good but not amazing. i am tryin to find a thread on carb setup with the stock carbs and a FP. i think i was sposed to lower the pop off wen i got the pipe but i never did. any addvice or help is greatly appreciated

The pilot/popoff should be rich enough as long as the engine is fourcycling as it comes on the pipe. If you are not getting maximum thrust at low speed then the pump load is too great. Try an old 750SX 80mm nozzle.

i actually was looking at the pipe today, a friend had said the same thing. i also found i have a cracked carb shaft, the crack is right on one of the screws that hold the butterfly. i tightened the screw but i aint sure wether to trust it. i dont think the screw will back all the way out but will it cause any collateral damage?

FP recommends an 88 lo jet. I ended up using an 80 jet on my 40mm carb but I think the next size up (82.5 maybe?) would be better.

Understand that Kawis generally aren't ported to have much if any bottom end. Such is life.

yeah FP says an 80 pilot mite b better in some apps, but they also said the pilot jet is a 75 stock but its a 67.5 so im not sure wether to believe FP but i will pretty much try wutever it takes to wake this ski up its fast but i want it to pull like a mofo to get me out of the water after a hard landing so thanks for the suggestions boys

So says all the superjet guys... Mod for mod, my kawi feels like it produces more power. The SJ is more fun to ride though. Just my 2 cents on the power issue.

75 should be the stock jet.
