SX/SXi/SXi Pro SXI-PRO Factory Dry Pipe & ECWI Question

So I just bought a factory dry pipe system for my '01 SXI-Pro. The guy I bought it from wasn't running it with the ECWI or the controller. I've read a couple different places saying that you need it and other places saying you don't.

Does anyone know for certain?

If your racing then yes, the controller can dry the pipe for max topend. For freeriding and playing around tap the fitting on the head pipe and put a 100 main jet in there and put a adjustable valve to control how much water you want and it works great and very tunable for your application.

What he said, if not that, if you want any bottom end, you need the controller

will work on stock electrics.

You just wire it up to the battery and wrap a sensor wire around one plug wire to read the RPM's.
