I have same arrestors with frogskinz on the arrestors. I ride surf and definately get plenty of water in the bilge. A one way valve and 500 gph bilge makes quick removal. I never *feel* any water ingestion, but whenever I pulled the head I found a little water inside the cylinders and salt residue (salt water). I been fogging the motor after every ride to be safe.

I think I have two options at this point; try and reduce water coming into the bilge or put factory flame arrestors (but i'd have to retune the low speed jet + pop off pressure)

I think the original poster wants to reduce water coming into the bilge by installing frogskinz over existing vents. If thats what you're looking for, id guess they would definately help. I think the material they use is not their own design, I think it's implemented somewhere and i've seen it before, I just cant think of it. I may try the same thing on my existing hood vents.

Maybe I'll get it all the way around NEXT time....

My buddy installed the full Frogskinz package on his SXR while doing a rebuild and a few other mods. Having them all installed caused the ski to run poorly and there was a whistle while riding. We chased all kinds of phantom issues, thinking the whistle was some kind of bearing noise, but he noted that it ran fine on the trailer (while the hood was off), so we began searching for other issues. He finally found that the Frogskinz were not allowing enough air into the engine compartment, as the screens were fairly restrictive. He removed one of the screens, and the ski immediately ran fine on the water, and the whistle was gone.
On the plus side, they are VERY effective at keeping stuff out of your engine compartment, including air.

Block off the front hole on the hood...use duct tape...whatever....cut a 2nd hole in the back. Problem solved. You will cut water intrusion by 1/2. If you are running a drypipe and large carbs, add a 2nd air hose to the back, if not, you are golden.

keep on stock flame arrestor...and if you really want to keep water out, get a trinity hood. (plus your ski will be faster and sound cooler).
