SXR HELP

I've been away for a few years as i haven't been riding my ski after i flooded it (2003 sxr800)....bilge pump went and the engine compartment filled about 1/4 way with water. Stator wire exploded and i'm guessing it ruined part if not all of the electrical box.

What i've replaced:
stator
voltage regulator
battery wires

Went to start it yesterday and nothing happened. No spark, no noises...nothing. I have power from battery to ebox, i have power going up the the start switch but i don't have power coming back down. Also my ground wire that goes to the kill switch has 1/2 a volt???? I unplugged the kill switch and tried to jump the ski with a small wire going from pin to pin. This caused the ground wire on the battery to spark and nothing else happened...?????

Should i be looking into replacing the starter relay?

Is the motor rusted up , does it turn over ? Open up the Ebox it comes out fairly easy
Motor was rebuilt a year ago. I have the ebox opened now, already replaced the voltage regulator and I have a new starter relay on the way. The fuse in the ebox did not blow.

anyone....broke one of the pins off the cdi so i guess i need a new one now too.

Bench test the relay. There are videos online. Basically you hook 12v to the 2 wires to engage the relay, then OHM the 2 positive terminals to ensure it's fully engaged.

Ohm the start stock switch. Inspect and Ohm the 3 battery cables (2 red, 1 black). The starter should turn by hand if you remove it.

I have jumped the starter on the bench, but that's not a safe way to test it, so I'm telling you not to do that, and it's your own fault if you try the dumb stuff I have done and get yourself hurt.

What Pin did you break off the CDI? My plugs to my stator went bad so I replaced them with bullet connectors.

You said your ground wire
sparked ?

Take your ground wire off the battery and inspect. I bet there is an arcing high spot on it.

File down the high spot on your terminal and tighten that baby down.
