SXR sxr modifications, what next?

Hey all!

I have been moddind my 04 sxr a piece at a time and i have been wondering what should i do next? I am mainly only interested in freestyle action..

So far in the ski: factory drypipe, r&d head, Skat-trak freestyle prop, freestyle cone, r&d plate and intake grate, footholds in progress and a footstrap, engine bored out to 82,75 proX pistons

So my questions .. What should i do next? i am looking for a maximal freestyle setup ...
I have read that i could bore out the nozzle to 80mm, but i am getting mixed messages for this one, as some people say that it might not work out that well.. and i think that if i tried this one out i should have a spare stock nozzle just in case.

Also i got a bit interested as i read that you could move the whole engine a little to the back for about 1 or 1,5 inches, with this one i was left wondering if one should get a smaller shaft to the impeller or do you move the whole pump setup back the same lenght?

I'm also looking for an msd, so if anyone has a spare ... Pm me!

So i'm looking forward on hearing your opinions and suggestions :woot:

I'd seriously look at a lightweight hull if you are hell bent for freestyle. It would be more expensive to build enough motor to overcome that heavy stock hull.

Drop 100 lbs off the hull and you would be amazed how powerful your current engine package is already.

I have been thinking about a carbon hull but the costs are really high ... I'll start saving and maybe next year i might have enough dough for one =)

Your building the wrong hull bro. That's like trying to make a pole swinging stripper out of a 400lbs+ fat woman

I think a trim system would be a nice addition.

I'm on the same line here, a fellow has a trim nozzle he built himself for an sj and i have been harassing him to make me one for my kawi..

I Know.. That requires hard work to make that fat lady swing but i'm all about that work since i don't have the funds to pay a decent stripper =)

This is what i'm looking at riding my sxr ...

Can anyone also tell me about that timing advance you can do by rerouting the electrics of the tempsensor?
In plain english as detailed as possible..

Is that ride plate extended? My SXR felt a lot more playfy after I cut it so it was flush with the back of the hull. Boring the nozzle would depend on what pitch prop you have in there now, but I liked the bored nozzle on mine when I had the dry pipe on it. I would do a pole swap before anything else though, a shortened SJ style pole setup made a huge difference for me.

The plite has been extended for about an 1" or 1,5inch.
my prop is if i correctly remember a skattrak 13/17 with setback
I'' ll compare the 650sxs nozzle to the one on my sxr and if the 650s is bigger i'll swap it around

Cut the air temp sensor wires just behind the sensor. Solder the two wires together. Heat shrink the solder joint and you are good to go. BTW, it is the green plug that has the air temp sensor connection.

I don't understand the bored pump nozzle hype. Can someone please explain to me why a bigger nozzle is better? They had to have shrunk it on the SXR for a reason. What the tradeoff?
