SXR sxr sensor question

heres my 2010 sxr,anyone here can explain me what is the green conector and the litle sensor on the e box,i circle it in black,in a little square.thanks!

That is your ambient temp sensor. It will control the timing based upon the air temperature in the hull. That is the connector that gets jumpered with the wetpipe install to advance timing.

so i got an r&d timming advance plate,its ok to remove the sensor?

2004 and up models, the temp sensor must remain plugged in.

cauz i see a lot of sxr with no sensor on,i was thinking its not nescesary

You're not supposed to run both a temp bypass and advance plate. It's way too much timing.
