55 with stock carbs and pump sounds pretty fast to me . I would like to have a lower psi than 205 though . Sounds like its race ready !

yeah im gonna send the chamber in soon.i was looking at the mod that novi does to the stock carbs looks pretty good also(550-650$).an the thick base gaseket i think will hlp me a lil also

when i bought my sxr it had a cracked pipe so i sent it in got a new one it cracked almost instantly so insted of paying the shipping and the down time i just had it welded locally and had it back the same dayand it was about the same as shipping to fpp

Thats not a bad speed at all for running it with a cracked pipe. The novi mod is a cheap, good way to go for stock carbs. The drop down dome setup is nice. thicker base gasket helps port timing and the drop domes help keep up compression.

thanks guys i wanna get my ski around 57-58 mph.i know it has slowed down a lil from when it was fresh due from hours but knnow i think the cracked pipe is slowing it down.i should have seen how fast it was when it was fresh.it feels like the ski has so much more speed in it i just need to set up with a lil more gas, just dont want to spend 1500 on novis......i was nice pulling from a kawi 1100 yesterday with a bad pipe:smile:

50 from a stock ski I am finding out is pretty good. I thought I could get one to do 52, but I am finding 50 and some change is all I can get.

Don't bother with the CDI unless you're getting a pipe and increasing fuel/air flow. For stock setups, it's pointless to go aftermarket CDI.

Proof = my ski has great acceleration and hovers around 54mph with a stock CDI.

around here were getting 53mph gps on a stock boat. i think im going back to stock class, not going tolose much top speed, pump gas an im too fat to hold on to my limited!

I do have Tau Ceti's and rejetted... Won't a CDI give me any advantage?

 53 and 54 on stock boats!! Are these stock race legal ??? I mean no other mods than the rulebook allows?

I don't see me gaining 4 mph with some carb adjustments and a prop...

There's water management and exhaust restriction to add to that list. There are 100% legal ways to get to 53-54. There are also illegal ways to get there. It's fun to have a boat that starts every time you hit the green button that runs like my stocker. Plus, like eastbay said, I too am a big f@t@$$ and couldn't manhandle a limited anymore either.

I need to hit the gym.

...but to answer your question, your powerband for a stock boat won't take advantage of an aftermarket CDI. Additionally, your peak RPMs shouldn't get too far up there since the boat makes most of its power (in stock form) below 7400.

It's a fun thing - have fun with it!
