SXR Sxr1100 fuel tanks

You guys running 1100 motors what's the most riding time you guys get surf/flatwater/rev riding I'm looking to go a cheaper route and throw a 1100 in my next am hull build and was wonder if ill ever Beable to get over an hour

My friends barely get an hour out of their 800's. I would doubt an hour will be achievable. I thought I remeber people saying they were getting 30 minutes to a tank, but my guess is that's a lot of WOT. I don't know of many people that build the 1100 to just bomb around though.

depends on what you are doing. I know early on when the GP class started, There were guys that could barley do 20 laps, then throw in a few false starts and they may not could make it..........

So, Alot of WOT your not going to last long. Playing around, should be a bit longer. I would go to PWCToday and go to the racing section and ask.

This is assuming you are talking about installing a 1100 triple Kawi motor in.

If your talking DASA / XScream, then I would imagine the fuel burn is similar.

Well I was looking into either a Kawi 1100 or there's a riva yamaha 1100 I could get my hands on...I wanted it purely to jump boat wakes and was finding a cheaper way to get more power to the pump but I kept reading and things are sounding heavier so this might be a lost cause.

you don't want to build an sxr1100 to go jump wakes! it is do able jumping wakes with the 1100, done it a few times but that ski isn't for that at all.

You guys couldn't be more wrong. It's an extra 35lbs for a Kawi 1100 vs the twin Cyl. This is on a boat that is already 400lbs. The extra power blows away the weight gain.
This is why we had the demo 1100 blaster at Daytona. These motors rip, and work just fine for wave jumping and ripping around. Lets face it no one is flipping a stock SXR hull.

Rode my 1100 sxr in lake mi @bender 5 to 7 ft... Rocking.....would not ride anything else...just my 2 cents...30 min of that is all one could take...at a time

Mine had a 3dr hood which weighs in at 5 lbs....so weight of 1100 was off set....a few pounds at least....bullett gen 2 x2 is super good in surf/mi waves.....it also has 1100

Hi guys , I have a Sxr 1100 and 800 rode both of them on Wednesday , 1100 is not made for jumping waves , sits lower in the water , great to ride on the flatter days every time I went over a wave the front tends to dive into the next one !
Bought it back in and took the 800 out heaps better on a wavy day !
If you wanted to jump bigger put a dasa or x scream in it !
As for the fuel stock tank , keihin 38, about 30 min , I have just put on my Late Jack Green , 46,s Mikuni I ride out and then back in to fill up again , but just ace ! :arms: Just my 2 cents

That 1100 sounds pretty mean, nice! I know with my Sxr 800 Dasa, I d-cut the ride plate and I d-cut the hull to clear trim. It seems to ride a lot more nose high and doesn't dive into the next wave as much as it did before. It is a lot more fun to ride and jumps a lot better too. The cons to cutting the d into the hull is it slides a lot more (which I like) and you lose some top speed (no biggie for me). It might help with the 1100 diving into the next wave, but not sure. Also, I heard the R&D intake grate is known to drive you into the next wave, if you are running that intake grate maybe go with a Worx or Jet Dynamics intake grate. FYI- I'm not sure about the intake grate, so I could be wrong on that info. If you decide to try the d-cut a one gallon paint can or a 5 gallon bucket works great for a template.

For the fuel consumption you could always bolt in a reserve tank to the right of the fuel tank. It would probably more of a surf boat though.
