SXR800 idle/bogging problem HELP!!

I just bought an 800 an the ski runs perfict when I get through the bogging out. Ive cleaned the flame arrestor checked fuel lines and am starting to think its either dirty carbs or reeds. IT runs better if I choke it half way but when choke is off it boggs out unless im up to speed.???

Bogging

I am not an expert on this by any means, but if you are experiencing the "bogging" when you go from idle to full acceleration (or close to it); I've found that its usually the carburetor pop off pressure setting that's off.

This is true. thats why i ask if you have any aftermarket parts. If you are running aftermarket FA's on stock carbs with no tuning then you are gonna notice a seroius bottom end lag.

Don't listen to these earlier posts. All you have to do is clean your carbs the pilot jet witch is the smallest jet in the system and controls your off idle is clogged being the smallest jet it cloggs first. after you give it more throttle you go to the next jet in the circuit that is not clogged and the ski runs fine so get a rebuild carb kit from sbt or a local dealer and clean your carbs. do not rejet or mess with the screws if you don't know what you are doing.

I agree, if the choke has to be out in order for it to run, then the slow jet is plugged up. Most any 2 stroke will exhibit this sympton when the pilot is plugged up.
