What is this? Flat water or surf hull? What is it based on? Ride characteristics? Haven't heard of this project until now....

Mostly flatwater hull I believe, but it did make it to the surf successful in daytona. I love riding this thing. I rode @TOBY s ski with an 800ish motor. It definitely wanted to flip and bring that nose right up, but if you got just a little speed, it would flatten up and cruise just fine. Maybe I think this because I rode a Rok-R right before the T1, but they had similar riding characteristics. And I loved the rok-R.

Flips on flatwater and rips in the surf with a quick switch of the ride plate... You would prolly want a heavier hull or use weights for big west coast surf... It's fine the way it is for the majority of the East coast... It's just as much fun as my 4.3 freak in the surf... and you can flip it on Flatwater with 900cc's whereas I can't Flatwater flip my freak without liter or more of cc's... Got a Lil more pop...
You can drop in a 158 pump shoe with no grinding if I'm not mistaken... I know you can a 155...
You can use any aftermarket super jet hood, nose piece, ride plate, and intake grate with the T one...
Continuous rocker from front to back....
Larger pump intake...

Is that blue ski yours too? Otherwise I feel like I watched that 1:13 video to see a ski get put on a scissor stand...
Both T1 hulls, I know it is a crappy video, you will have to forgive my lack of video editing skills. I shot this from the phone and cut it down enough to get the back flip. I decided to leave the last half with Toby's T1 included to show the hull up close.
