Blaster tach numbers

I have tiny tach mounted so I can watch as I ride. the best I could tell was 6800 rpm at nearly full throttle. The max rpm tells me 7500 or so. Is this typical for low rpm on long runs? I would expect revs to increase to 7500 as it becomes unhooked. msd set at 7500 to 7800. Who really knows with setting msd. I was expecting motor to pull at least 7200 or higher moving through the water. Motor mods too numerous to mention. U name it I most likley have it.

Tiny Tach mounted driver side of handlebar down low on hood cover. This took a bit to secure, had to remove top cover and route wires. looks good and is very visable. 10/16 hooker prop. Prop as I know is considered mild. (low pitch) which should increase rpm. Just wondering how many of you look at actual rpm #'s vs. recordable max rpm. My M8 Arctic Cat 153" snowmobile has tach max memory too but it's actual motor speed is a lot closer to recorded max rpm than the spread of 6800 actual vs. 7500 as recorded. I can understand hitting the rev limit as it unhooks and would give me a 7500 max reading but with all aftermaket products and msd. 6800 prop loaded wtf ???

That would be about right for a low port cylinder with a limited wet pipe although I would shoot for at least 7000. High RPMs come with high ports and dry pipes.

OooKayy So setting the rev limiter as high as it will go, I beleive 9000 would be just stupid. Higher revs may be possible with motor design but not likley I'll ever see on a a loaded prop? 62t 61x motor cyl ported dual 38mm bored. 185psi head. lightend flywheel MSD Protech wet pipe. and on and on.
