taking pics in the surf

What type of cameras does everyone use when taking pictures on the water?? video and stills??

I was looking a those waterproof cases made for my canon digital but just kinda curious what everyone else uses and before I spent almost 200.00 and not really need it

I was also looking at this aquapac for my digital camera , The price i like about 50.00

Im just wanting to take some pics of buddies and I wave jumping in the ocean and maybe some short videos

Thanks

This is what I'm using at the moment, its a fuji F10, does a pretty good job and can take about 15 minutes of decent quality video on a 1gig card. I went for the scuba enclosure over the new lot of water 'resistant' cameras, because I don't think they can handle the pressure of a fall into water at speed, or a wave hitting you, they are only water proof for 30 minutes at 3m I think.

pentax wpi its water proof good resolution and the battery lasts forever. I paid $230 from some place on the internet. I haven't had it out riding yet but it takes some good pics.

Pentax isn't 'waterproof', the standard that it abides to is something along the lines of 3m (10ft) for thirty minutes, i realise it won't see that kind of time while you're floating around taking pics of your friends, but its more a question of pressure.

I think the induced pressure of a hard hit on the water is going to break something like that, I didn't want to take the chance (and do a bit of scuba diving on the side) so I went with something a little more sturdy.

He Who Dares....WINS!!!
I Use a sony Cybershot P-10 camera with a Sony Sport pack casing which is water resistant to 40 meters!
Works like a bomb!!!

Takes better pics with the casing on than without!!

Can definately reccomend!!
