Tanman's Monster SXR

It all started with a hat...


Then I had one of those visions of my 2006 Kawasaki SXR Stock class race ski into the Monster Energy, Blowsion badboy SXR I knew was somewhere inside
: )

So I did the strip down leaving the drive train for making this project simpler, Then a Scotch-Bright down and layed on some nice sandable primer. Then put down my black base coat, and cleared the ski. Then I layed down my stencils. The stencils were made by Sign Pro of Ketchikan, all of this job would be impossible to do without Sign Pro for me. I set down with Steve Locklear at Sign Pro and map out exactly what I need. He takes care of my graphics and stencils.


All of my paint was done with my DeVilbis DAGR airbrush so that I could spray controllingly and not mask off each M that was not wanted to be the color I was spraying.

then once all paint was layed I carefully pealed all of my stencils away to reveal this bute'!!!

I will continue with painting this sunday, cause I still feel like chasing girls like a normal 17 year old.

Ya I am in the process of renewing sponsorship for 2010, and have been with them since 08'. i am taken care of. All of my life has a little bit of Monster Energy in it. Monster Energy pin on prom suit, I piss green for a few days when i'm really thirst, wear a Monster hat everyday of the year, ect. :Banane35:

This ski will have all of my other sponsors painted on it also. Can't forget Blowsion, ODI grips, Hydro-Turf, GoPro and all of them make my world keep on truckin smoothly

Well I got the rest of the paint done today. I was going to do more of my sponsors in paint, but decided to go with decals. So I finished up with the big M and Blowsion logos Then laid my clear just a few minutes ago and am calling it a day. Hydro-Turf, ODI Grips, Alaska Marine Lines and all the rest will be in decals. I was originally going for everything paint. But never know if ill be representing these people for ever. So here is what it looks like now. I will get more pics when she is all assembled and lookin good!! Let me know what you think - Tanner

kurious cost of main stencil? There are all sorts of wildstyles to gangsta out patterns this way. Curious if it cost more than wrapping a ski or a nice vinyl kit

Well I would have to get a quote but I believe all the stencils from Sign Pro one of my sponsors would be around $300 mainly because there isn't competition here in Ketchikan on decals and stencils, not sure what other places would charge. But I did paint because of the durability behind it really. It will scratch, but if won't peal off, which I got tired of with decals when places in a well rubbed area, they can sometimes rub off. So I just decided to do my bulk in paint. other sponsors will now go on as decals
