Blaster Thinking about turning one of my blasters into a 1100 or 1200

I haven't done a ton of research on this build but how hard is this to pull off? I seen a 1100 bed plates that could utilize the stock pump and I would need a rear water box but there has to be more to this right?

It's an easy swap...I did an 1100 yami swap and was well worth it.

Some things Youll need to address to do the swap
- motor mount relocation kit
- rear raider 1100 waterbox
- rear exhaust kit
- hog out foam out of rear of ski under seat
- cut big hole Through bulkhead for exhaust to run through
- shave ridge around stock waterbox mount location so engine will clear
- swap 5 finger coupler on 1100 motor to a 3 finger stock blaster coupler

Think that's it. Was a real straightforward conversion like it was meant to go in there
I'm running stock blaster midshaft length with 144 pump, and it goes real well. Way more torque than a modded 701.

Its super fun to build. Minus the defoam part. I hated that part. Check out my 1100 build thread. PM me if you have any questions.

It really doesn't look too bad I think I'm about to move forward with this build, I will keep reading everyone's build logs. The only thing I'm not excited for or even sure I want to try is the rear water box, there has to be another way around this. I want to get the 1100 in there and see if its even possible to possibly shorten a tdr power spray water box and still run the oem exhaust exit

Or, you could run a Rad Dudes Centerbleed pipe and run the waterbox up front and back down the side to the OEM outlet.

IMO, yes, it's a lot of work, but I'd run the rear waterbox. Rad Dudes also sells these.

Yamaha -

Raider 1100, Waveventure 1100
GP1200, XL1200

Kawi -
ZXI1100, STX1100, STX DI 1100 (unless you want to run the fuel injection system, you'd have to replace the entire elec system, head, exhaust chamber body)

It comes down to what ski you can find cheap. Around here we find kawi 1100s for $200-$1000. Then with the Rad Dudes kit its as plug and play as it comes. Motor is centered in the hull so it rides like the blaster you know and love just with way more power!

As for Yami swaps, ADA has a great kit bolts into stock mounts and stock midshaft. only down sides to the Yami swap are the big pipe to deal with and the motor sitting forward in the hull. But 1200 yamis have great carbs so there are goods and bads.
