This is what I get for attempting a build half way through the summer. Body and paint took way longer then expected. Now that's all done had trouble with the midshaft that I sorted out this morning. Now I go to install the motor and either the motor mounts are the wrong ones or my bed plates are incorrect. Could you guys that have square noses take a look at the pics and advise me please. Was hoping to have this thing together by the end of the weekend. Don't look good......

What ski did that motor come out of?

Early wave runners with the 650 motor had a different style bedplate.

That is wayyyyy off though.

EDIT: After a closer look at your pics it seems like the rear motor mount doesn't even line up with the holes in the bedplate? That would suggest that they are wrong.

If you need the correct set I have them. 40 shipped.

Yeah I think the waverunner lx had plates like the 500. Is that what they are from? I actually need plates like that and the midshaft for my jammer conversion. I have plates for a 61x that would work and would trade.

its the old style 650 with the 2 piece head. it came with hull in the box of parts I got. no idea if the mounts are right either. pulled them out of a couch. there was 1 mount in the hull and I matched them up.

ISOLDOUT: I will pull the plates off the motor and post up pics. shoot me a call or text when you see this. 860-209-5679 if we can help each other out that would be great!

Ya. There the wrong ones. Took them off and there not long enough to reach between the two mounts. This blows

Looks nice, but did you use washers to space out the midshaft? I will be honest, I have not followed your build, but did you check to see if the midshaft was seated into the housing the correct depth?

I don't have a build thread. guess I should start one.

according to jetmaniac, my midshaft was afro engineered by the PO. its out of a couch and turned down to work in the SJ. he rebuilt it for me. it was actually seated in too far and I had to press it back closer to the engine a 1/4 inch. I have to do some soldering this morning to shorten the start stop wires on the ebox. it also came out of a couch and they are super long.
