the motor actually does attract them to an extent, but actually getting bitten would be very rare.. never heard of it happening

Ponce Inlet is very sharky!!! I actually was out in a swarm like that a few years back and had to get towed in on my x-2

Funny you mention that. Last time I rode at Ponce the thought was in the back of my head about the sharks there. But then 5 or 6 dolphins showed up & I was so amazed by watching them surf & play in the waves that I completely forgot about the sharks. And then I thought to myself "hope Discovery Channel hasn't been blowing smoke up my arse & what they say about dolphins attacking sharks is true"...lol

I'd rather die in a blaze of glory then with a 12" bite mark out of the back of my favorite FX-1.

I just found out that the Oregon and Washington coast are normal habitat for Great Whites and Makos.

Yes there are, and we have Great Whites over here in the Gulf as well this time of year.
