My throttle cable end seems to be a little different i was wondering if i have to get a new throttle cable or if there something different i need to do to hook it up to the standard throttle lever

The throttle cables before '86 are like that. You need a post-'86 throttle cable. I might have one. I can check tomorrow. You could also get a different throttle wheel that clamps on that style throttle cable. I used on like that on my 550/650 ski.
