Throttle limiter fo new riders?

So I have this 95 raider and I've grown to like it, a lot. All stock 62t 701 in it thats been stupid reliable even with all these newbs ripping around at full throttle all the time I'm sure. I'd like to start upgrading it, but I don't want the squids to kill it. So I was thinking about some kind of throttle cable clamp perhaps to limit it to 3/4 throttle or something along those lines. Something I can install and remove fairly easy as the day goes on. Anything like that out there? Or any home redneck solutions?

Drill and tap a bolt threw the handlebars only allowing the throttle to open desired range? Then you can screw or unscrew the bolt for more or less throttle?

Throttle wheel and move the barrel down on the throttle cable. Or add a screw to the throttle that you can adjust to limit it.

Needs to be a quick on and off deal, dont want to have to open the hood to change it or break out a screw driver....... Find a section of hose you can slip over part of the throttle. Or, adjust the throttle cable where you have enough play to where you can run the adjuster nut in several turns limiting cable pull.

One time I rented a couch that had a piece of wood electrical taped to the handle bar as a throttle stop, I twisted it down for full throttle and twisted it back when I returned it. Very quick to adjust lol. Maybe something better than that but I think the concept is there. Don't have to open the hood or spend any money. An eccentric aluminum clamp with a thumbscrew comes to mind. Or just a hose clamp that's just barely loose enough to twist out of the way.

Switch to a programmable cdi that can have multiple maps. One for you, and one with timing pulled for when buddies ride. Keep it wired on a toggle.
a switch on the temp sensor would give you two maps on the stock cdi lol

That's true but I don't think anyone would be happy riding a ski that damn slow haha. I only recommended the aftermarket Cdi since plans to mod the raider were inline.

Throttle actually makes it easier to learn so I like the programmable ignition idea so you can at least give them 6500-7000 RPM. And then pull timing out of the top so if they do go full throttle, it's safe. Flipping a switch is so much easier.

Plus, when it's your turn, you get the added benefit of a better timing curve which makes your ride just that little bit better than it used to be.

That's a win - win in my book, without giving up any reliability.
