Freestyle Tigercraft fv-1

Well after spending the last couple summers on shore I decided it was time for me to get in on the action. I’m new to the sport and have a total of maybe 30 minutes on a js440 but with the help of friends and a little research I knew I was looking for a boat chaser/flatwater ski. With that being said this fv-1 came up for sale, I messaged a good friend of mine and on the 25th of December at midnight we left our humble little town in Quebec Canada and set out for northern Illinois USA, many hours, tacos and yoohoo chocolate milk later we arrived back home on the 27th at 11am fv-1 in hand! I didn’t have a heated shop so it spent the winter in the spare room (girlfriend loved it.......not) counting down the days that I could begin working on it. Now that summer is here I’ve moved it out to my “shop” and started working on it, with next to no experience riding these i definitely had never worked on one. The “major” work that needed done was the footholds and turfing them, 1 crack that needed glassed, couple jelcoat patches, carb clean and the rest is just little odds and ends, not much as I was seeking a RTR ski. Here are some pics of the ski and the bit of work I’ve done so far! It’s been hard to find time with everything else going on but hoping to be riding very soon, summer is almost in full swing here! Black footholds are how it came, my feet barely fit bare foot so I ripped them out and started from scratch, blue turfed footholds are the almost finished product as they are just sitting in place in the pics need to do a tad bit more trimming then do the final install, glass is done and just finishing up with the jelcoat as well!

I’ve been able to get a few riding sessions in, footholds I made were removed and revised to smaller covered wedges, the ride quality for me as a beginner is much better with this style, so far it’s been quite the experience but I like to think I’m making good progress, I now have about 10-15 gallons burnt in the fv-1 And feeling comfortable enough to start throwing it around, here’s a couple pictures of the new holds and a short clip of a flip attemp, (I’ve gotten a bit more height and roatation than this video shows but it’s all i have for now)
