Tigercraft M1 motor mounts

Does anyone know if Tony sets up the surf hulls to run couch mounts? I have 9 mm of shims under the front two mounts and about 4 mm in the rear. The problem I am having is some of the shims are slipping out because there are so many.

So the reason why I had originally ask this because I had a stupid amount of shims under my OEM superjet ones. Switched to couch ones and now I have 1/4th the shims in there.

I am building a Tigercraft J1 which came with superjet mounts. I was in the same boat so I mocked up couch mounts and it lines up almost dead nuts, may require one of the thinnest shim for perfection.

I mean I guess after all it is a plus. Just wished I would have figured it out sooner.

It is my understanding that Tony sets up all Tigercraft hulls for couch mounts. You can use SJ mounts but need alot of shims, so best to use the stronger couch mounts especially for surf.

I used Rhaas sj mounts in my M1 and the most shim I had was right around 2mm. All the tigercrafts I've had I've ran sj mounts and have had no more than 2-3 mm of shims.

I went to couch mounts and have not looked back.

JM, I just built a SV Pro and Tony told me to use the stock superjet mounts. I installed six of them

Depends. But majority of the tigercraft hulls I've been around take couch mounts.

Another thing to consider is alignment of the pump shoe. How the pump shoe is installed and how pump is aligned, will also affect the height of the motor.
