how do you guys advance your timing and what should i advance it to

When looking at the front of the motor, the flywheel should be rotating clockwise. Loosten the stator plate bolts and rotate stator plate counter clockwise. On the Yamis, 1mm = 1 deg of timing. I don't think you want to go more than 4 deg advanced.

I 1 mm = 1 degree is close but 3.5mm is supose to be exactally 3 degrees. (so I was told)
where can i get an advance plate, after i get that and install it do i just turn it counter clockwise to advance? how much should i advance the timing
