Just wondering what everyone who ownes this hood thinks of it. The good and the bad. I have contacted some owners and they only had good things to say about the hood. I am seriously considering purchasing one soon and i am a little worried about the quality seeing how it is not a major brand name. I am also running an xmetal pole and i ride flat water. Let me know what you think

If you are thinking about getting anything from Tom21, I say green light. I bought a lowered round nose hood and eyebrow from tom21 and it is great. He has got a little backed up due to the # of orders and the quality of his work. Tom21 is great to work with. If you do get the hood I recommend you get a new hood seal from randy at Watcon.com to make sure the hood fits perfectly. My NEW hood was destroyed when I was involved in an accident with a couch, I have a new one on order and another set for my new ski. Call tom21 you will be as stoked as I am for sure.

Pretty much what the others said. I have had issues with hood, the liner has separated from the hood. This could be from rough handling during shipping, since there was a small crack at the breathers in the back when I received the hood. Tom was very helpful and willing to make this right when I contacted him about this. Since I live in Sweden shipping it back wasn't an option so I fixed this myself. He offered to ship glass an gelcoat out to me to fix it with, that's cool!
It will take you a while to get it, it seems Tom is swamped in work. I did get a Watcon seal to go with it, good choice!
All in all, it seems Tom is one of the good guys in this industry!

Mine is holding up pretty well. I have landed some upside down back flop attempts in the surf and cracked some gel coat with my helmet and put the factory pipe top screw through the hood liner, but nothing that wouldn't happen to any other hood doing the same crap. I am only using a brap strap type hold down device on the hood. No latch. Also have Watcon hood seal. No water intrusion issues.

The only issue i have had so far was that I just wet sanded the gel coat instead of painting and it was a little thin. If you are picky about looks I would suggest painting the hood. I couldn't care less as my ski is a surf beater. I'm more concerned with strength and the hood has held up to many big pancakes and back flops in the surf. It should be plenty strong for flat water.

If its any other kind of suggestion, I am having him build me a fixed steer hood for a squarenose as well. So that should say something about his build quality.

Thanks for the info guys. Also im running a blaster chamber and was wondering if the pipe would hit the liner. Anyone know how much room is under it.

Well I tried a few more backies today and cracked the other side of the hood. Not sure if its a gelcoat crack or fiberglass crack, I will inspect tomorrow.

I had three big flat upside down splats from 10-15 feet up or so.

I take delivery of mine in a week or two.. Tom has been great to deal with. There are two hoods in my ride group and I have personally seen 3 others. All good.

also, can anyone post pictures of the hood on their ski. The only pics i have seen are the ones he posted. I would like to see it on a ski that is painted to match.

Check my build. It is gelcoat, not painted. I had Tom get RN blue gelcoat. It is really close in color, but not that shinny (yet), I need to wet sand it and polish it more.
