Total loss enclosure material?

So I got an old msd 4270. I want to Put in an enclosure. I welded an aluminum box up and made a lexan front it will be water proof but now I'm noticing all these msd boxes mounted on com posit plates or lexan. The ski I took it off of had it mounted in the plastic ebox cover. So my question is. Can I mount it to an aluminum box? Are there any guide lines to mounting up this unit also any tips or tricks? I wanted to put all the electronics in a water tight enclosure. Will it hurt to have it mounted on the aluminum it will all be grounded. Also I would like to know where I could find some through panel connections to run so I can keep the coil in the box and hook the coil wires up on the out side?

Yes, thats fine with aluminum housing. Many freestylers mount them to alu or carbon plates, in carbon hull (carbonfibre is conductive)
Be sure to make a GOOD ground for everything, you can never get to much ground :)
Other option, if to find a IP67 electrical enclosure to put it in, i did.
You need some grommets to your cables.diagram.jpg
