Trailer Shopping

Picking up my first standup and need a trailer. What does the best job for hauling an SXR-800? I don't want any trailer that "could" handle a bigger boat, because that will never happen. I'd like the most dedicated small PWC trailer available for my new baby.

Without much research it seems you'd be hard pressed to find a new trailer that meets your criteria. They all seem big enough to hold the biggest 4stroke 3 seater these days.

You will probably have to find an used, older trailer. One of the smallest mass produced I can think of is 90's Venture WaterBug trailer. I have one and total width is like 57" with the wider tires and frame length of @ 125".

Get on Craigslist and start searching for single place PWC trailers. Anything will work for a stand-up, aluminum trailers are lighter, nicer and a little more $$$$. But anything with good tires, properly greased bearings, and a bow catch will get the job done.

If anyone else ends up with with a similar question looking for used trailers for standup /B1/B2, etc...

Waverunner 3s can often be found with pretty small trailers by today's standards with tube tongues that can be cut shorter with a sawsall. Just be sure to check the condition of the axels as they are usually the first part to wear out.

These old trailers also make great kayak / canoe or single atv trailers because the frames are square. Makes it easy to put down bunks or flat decks.

Someone posted in a local FB group, they were looking for a trailer for their Sea Doo RXT...it's 12ft long btw. That is not even a ski anymore, that's a small over powered boat. lol
