Trim cable/lever question

hi all. I’m building out my first ski with trim and have (probably) a stupid question. The end boss on the cable (red arrow) won’t fit into the “adjuster” in the lever (blue arrow). What have y’all done in this situation or what am I missing here? Anybody got closeup pics of their levers/cable? Thanks.

Are you using the correct end? You could drill it out a little larger if there is room.

Yes. Using the right end. My first thought was drilling out lever fitting but wanted to ask here first. Not going to leave much meat if I do that..

Yes, if you buy a lever from XS or Thrust it would have been modded already.
