trim engine cover foam to fit 750 electrics?

Is that what you guys/gals are doing to fit it, or am I mounting it in the wrong spot. I am putting it where the oil res used to be. thx, Dan

my hood has no foam and the intakes are modified to the rear of the hood to avoid water ingestion.
