Any solid info comparing the Trixstar S to either the Aerial 8 OR Phantom.
Ride reports preferred but other personal knowledge on specs build quality, ride characteristics, etc. helpful too. Fire away

Phantom is taking after the Backie Chan so it will be a wide platform and should be wider that the other two hulls. I think I heard the phantom and Trixstar are SXR based for the bottom. With EME being mainly Kawi based I am not sure if that makes for the Aireal to be SXR based hull or more Superjet. The bottom of the EME hulls seem to have a "BOB bubble" (Similar to the gen1-3) which should make it harder to land and balance. I have not riden the Phantom but really liked my Backie Chan. I have heard the Phantom rides as stable to the Chan but easier to spin even though it is 2 inches longer. The Trixstar moves around great, I rode one in 2014 at world finals however I was tried and not able to do much because of lack of skills but remembered that that hull wanted to leave the water. Not sure on the tray of that hull but I do know the Phantom is wider so will have more play for foot room. Plus they are only 4.5 hrs north of you so easy to get any help from Josh and being able to get help is BIG. I was lucky with the builder of my motor being so willing to make contact even though he is on the other side of the country. IMO that is KEY for hull and motor builders

@hink320 I just remembered sxr based somewhere in that and assumed the bottom deck but I guess if I was looking at the ski the top deck would give it away lol. I knew an sxr bottom deck wouldn't jump the way your hull did ;)

Aerial 8= unstable, tippy, didn't really care for the ride.
Trixstar= seemed to slides well, rode very light, excellent quality
Phantom= very stable, slides very well, tons of pop off a very small setup wake, excellent in the surf too.

I own a phantom and I love the way it rides. I have ridden the other two hulls, but I still think the phantom rides better.

Thanks for posting, this is really what I am looking for.

I was pretty much set on a Phantom until I rode one. To each their own I guess. Just like a SF badass, when you hit a setup wake it sucks the nose down and plows instead of pops. Good rec boat maybe but not flatwater freestyle. Quality looks great. Buy from someone who will still be involved in the sport next year. Someone who rides.

A heavy glass phantom isn't going to flip very easily with a 701, put some power in it and it has no problem

Who's did u ride?

Comparisons are very difficult, one would have to compare apples to apples. Every ski is set up different and has different parts that make them preform different. A successful ride comparison would have to be done on skis of the same weight with roughly the same power. A 55lb ski rides nothing like an 85lb.

I agree. I rode a glass XFR with a dasa 1000 that same day. It was like crab apples to honey crisps. No comparison.

Any of these hulls are gonna be awesome but I have nothing negative to say about a phantom. I'm very very happy with mine.
