truck tub carrier

Wanting to make jet ski skids for a trub tub to hold jet ski in it. Its a short tub so tray need to be down. Or i need to make it sit on top of tray ledge.

My question is i dont want to drill into the tub to mount the jet ski skids to to tub via bolts. Anyone got a solution they have used to hold skids to truck tray without bolting.

Thanks

It sounds like he's trying to make bunks for a jet ski inside a short bed pickup box and since it's a short box (6-1/2 foot box) the tailgate will need to be down.

Ok i will clarify.

I want to put rails of wood or aluminium in truck tub (tray) to hold ski. The tub is too short so the tail gate needs to be down when i put rails in.

I dont want to drill through tub /tray base to bolt the rails (skids) to the tub base.

Has anyone got a way to secure rails to tub base without bolting it down via holes in tub.

Or i could have the tailgate up and make jet ski rails to fit on top but again i dont want to drill holes for mounting bolts.

Hopefully that make better sense.

I did this years ago. I ran beams across the width of the tub, one immediately in front of the wheel arch in the tub, the other immediately to the rear - this stopped forward/rearward movement. These were mounted on a sheet of form ply snugly cut to the width of the wheel arches - this stopped side-to-side movement. I then ran supports from this structure to the lip on top edge of the tub - this eliminated vertical movement. I then installed the slides to accommodate the ‘ski and bolted securing points onto the form ply to restrain it.

no tie down hooks in bed at the bottom of tub only on the top in each corner. i wanted to to put skids in with a winch at front of tub so i could add a ramp to winch up the ski on to bed / rails. therefore not needing a trailer. i dont always have someone with me to lift the ski straight onto bed which two people can do but i not always with mates when i ride.

You can get tiedowns that fit under the bed hold down bolts

In my tundra, I ran 2 strips of unistrut in the bed floor channels, I use them to bolt all kinds of stuff down to the floor. Similar to this but on the floor.

I was thrown off by the word 'Tub" im assuming you are calling the truck "bed" the "tub" . Anyways Polish_20200420_085731947.jpg20200410_140631 (1).jpg20200410_140657 (1).jpg20200410_141056 (1).jpg
