Turf jobs with molded foot wells

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Hydroturf for my wife's FX-1. I was going to do a flat bottom pad, but started checking out all the skis with molded bottom foot wells. The FX-1 has some MONSTER footwells installed, so there is going to be a lot of slop, hoping to help her out a bit with the foot cutouts in the tray pad. If you have them done on your ski, or have rode a ski with them, what do you think? All my skis have had flat tray turf, and I've never rode one with the cut outs.

In my opinion there is no point in having cutouts/sanded turf in the bottom of the tray. You want all the padding you get in under your feet.

My ski had it like that and I found no point in it at all. Why put thick padding where you don't stand and thin padding where you do?

I recently just tore out my bottom padding because needed more room in the holds, looks just like the above posted pic. I personally love it and hugs your shoes more (front/back/sides). Keeps my feet in so well and notice zero ill effects from lacking underpadding
