Turf underpad options

I searched but didn't find the specifics I was looking for. What are some alternatives to hydroturfs under padding that can be found around town? I've seen yoga mats and camping mats used but there are many types. Trying to turf this weekend

Honestly your best bet is to order underpad. No point In Turfing twice if you don't have to.

Check out ergo standing mats. They are expensive, but super plush. I used one on a superjet i turfed and it worked good.

Agreed.. Just kinda amazes me that such a simple material can't be found locally. What would the stuff even be called? Its gotta have a name other than hydro turf branded underpad

Mcmaster has closed cell foam. If you get a camping pad make sure it is closed cell.

I don't think anyone has found an identical padding that lasts as long as hydroturf plush. Definitely worth waiting for.

I was at harbor freight and noticed some floor matt for fatigue that is closed cell. Cheap. Looks like diamond turf kinda

Which foam from there do you like to use?

I think the technical name is EVA foam, some in various forms from what I understand. I used the HF mats to do a prototype seat years ago when I was a student without any money, you could hardly tell there was any pad under the turf, it was hard as a rock when I was done, not worth the trouble.

Wait for the real stuff to come in from HT, you can get faster shipping times on Ebay from what they tell me.

Looks like the way to go. I need a few other things from Chris anyway so jetmaniac for the win once again. I will still keep an eye out for alternative products because I'm not ready to accept defeat.

I have used camping mat for the tray Worked fine, but HT pad for the rest.

Last year I redid my turf and used 1 inch thick anti-fatigue kneeling pad. With the LePage maximum stregth contact cement I have always used, it stayed adhered down quite a lot better than the HT underpad did and so far has not formed foot indents from my usual surf stance. The sheet of turf stayed adhered to the anti-fatigue pad very well too. I would say it was the best option for me and easily the most readily available and affordable. Like the underpad from HT you will need to trim and custom fit it in the foothold area and cut out the grab handle part to make it a square sheet, but on the main portion of the SuperJet tray it was a drop in fit. It took about 3 squares to fully pad the tray and footholds.

Get the 18mm from jetmaniac, it's very good stuff. And you can glue 3 small pieces together to make shock pads

Imo hydro turf plush is the best but if you find yourself being a cheap ass many options available
