Two questions 1995 SN Superjet

Playing around in the lake for 15 minutes it will suddenly bog and act up for couple seconds and pick right back up? What can be the cause of this..carbs? Running stock and 40:1 ratio yamalube 91 gas. Keep thinking it's a preventitve over heat issue or carbs? Anybody can chime in?

Also what can I expect throughout the years of the 1995 SN superjet with a 701 motor..will parts become absolutely hard to find? To begin with these are hard to find on CL already in my area. Should I find a newer model?

You may be experiencing water ingestion. The hood seal is probably letting an excessive amount of water in and it's getting in the carb. Also, between the aftermarket, vendors on this site, eBay, Facebook, OEM parts finder online and the for sale section here you will never really have a hard time finding parts for a long time. Keep in mind that your 95 has compatible driveline parts (pump, midshaft, motor mounts, fuel tank etc) as 1996-2007 Superjet's.

Overheat wouldn't cause it to bog. Just limits the revs to around 3k I think. I would rebuild the carbs or at least check the fuel filter. Make sure your hi/low speeds are dialed in right. Could be a lean bog. How does it act up and when? On full throttle?

could be a coil, could be needle and seat sticking in carb or dirt in fuel filter either inside fuel pump on carb or external filter. Also, make sure your water box is not broken inside, trust me there is good reason for my suggesting this.

@Mike W My Rule pump did give up on me at the lake and i did ride it anyways that way. So i kept riding for another 30 minutes and water got in through the side. Might have soaked my carbs because when i opened up the hood there was water about 2 inches thick..freaked me out! If i let the carbs dry the next time i go out will it have the same problem?

i'll check out the fuel filter and if that does not work i'll probably have to go and have a run through the water box.

Glory, happiness, all life boxes getting checked off...all these things can be expected of riding a 701 square nose.

If you only ride lakes (like I do) the siphon bilge is usually all I need to keep the water out. My electric bilge is only for backup.

No way I could ride without both. My ski lets in lots of water.

Sounds like something is wrong then. Make sure you don't have a water line that is disconnected. If a water line is off, then it could be the reason for the water in the bottom, plus the bad performance.
If you're not actively doing tricks that take you under water, you should not be getting water in the hull, unless you have a scupper valve in the rear of the hull and are letting it sit in the water.
I'd suggest taking the hood off, let it sit in the water and see if water is entering the motor area. If it's bone dry after a few mins, then ideally take the hood off and have it idling. Look for water spraying out from somewhere. You don't need to go fast for this, and just stay in the shallow water where it's not wavy. You don't want to sink your ski while it doesn't have a hood. Only do this step if you're skilled enough to ride without a hood and without falling over.

I am. Everyone should be with a superjet! I also fall off alot haha.

1. Sounds like a fuel starvation or richness issue. Need to check over the fuel system and small filter in the carb to make sure it isn't clogged, diaphragm isn't borderline, etc. Tank vent check valve is working correctly...

2. Most parts are common across all years so you shouldn't have a problem finding any replacement pats. Not a lot of people selling the skis so you don't see too many for sale. You can still buy OEM Yamaha parts for your ski.
