I decided to build a two ski hauler for my truck. My requirements were that it needed to be something that was easy to handle by myself and wouldn't take up much space in the garage. I also wanted a minimal amount of modifications to my truck. This is what I came up with and it works great! It still needs to be carpeted and a few other odds and ends but its made a couple trips to the beach already.
The two middle braces slide into place locking the hauler into the bed. Since it is two pieces it is easy to carry each piece by myself.
In the making.
I had to bolt a strip of angle iron to the front of the bed so I could strap the hauler forward and down. This was the only modification to my truck and it is reversible except for one hole I drilled for the center bolt. The other two bolts went through the drain holes.
Looking backwards.
With the skis below the bed rails I can still load them from the beach cart without any help.
Superjet, Predator, beach cart, and riding gear all in the bed.
