More power everywhere.:Banane13:
Are you sure?

back when I raced limited, I ran the B Pipe, my race buddy ran the type 4. I could hole shot him every time........ after 50 yds or so he would motor past me.

The type 4 has a great midrange hit. Just more trouble than they are worth. But people like them......... "to each his own"

Well we know that i am a freestyle'er and not a racer. But the rn im looking at has a dry pipe and i was just wondering if i could make it work for freestyle till i had the money for the b-pipe.

Just plain me....
I've gone between Bpipe & dry pipe this summer. While the dry pipe definitely has a hit & I do like the power, you gotta be prepared for when it does hit. I'm thinking for freestyle it's going to be a struggle to get it to hit where you want it to & it be smooth throughout your whole routine. But I'm just a girl who rides for fun, so what do I know:cheer:

Yes 100%, IMO they work very well. Not better than a B but its kind of apples and oranges.

Let me clarify, my type 4 rips off idle to the top, it was a lightswitch until I went back to stock duals and reeds, that smoothed it right out. I recently has some issues and needed coupler replacement so decided to try my B limited, it is way softer off idle and probably about the same at midrange, the dry however pulls into higher rpm for sure (not that I need it). I would run either one, for me right now as a surf boat simplicity is a big benifit when I have to work on it at the beach. With the dry, it means pulling the motor to do almost anything on the left side of the engine. YouTube - Dayton on Jeff's Red Ride @ Tastin n Racin

Bear in mind this was the first time on my boat to roll.

hey Crab, if your B Limited was soft, then something is up, may be the water settings. A ECWI is used to give a Dry Pipe more hit off the bottom. either way, You use what you like and what works...

Both pipes are good pipes and have there place.

Tried ewci and it sucked, the type 4 did not need it. Going to stay with the B next season for simplicity. I like both but do like the ease of wrenching with the B more.

I would really work on the B, X Scream and now GroupK both say to use the limited chamber on their setups.. like I said before, The Limited should be ripping your arms off. What mods to the cylinders???

Thats with a stock T cylinder at stock bore. I'm switching to an X cylinder at 82mm and fresh bore, may get it ported if time allows, both with 35cc domes.

Pipes and fires who's driving?

If you decide to give up on the coveted b-pipe it would be better than my pro-tec aluminum attachment bracket breaker. So you driving the motor home to pismo with your lead casted foot? You might get there faster.Light santa ana winds and the 2nd fire in 2 weeks on camp pendleton. Had my friends entire family over last night to prevent them from being b-b-qued.

You have ridden Jarrods black 06 w/the type 4, wut did u think about that ski? Or the silver ski w/the type 4? The bottom line is if u know how to set it up, a type 4 is as good or better than a B as far as power goes.

ok, that may be why you felt soft off the bottom, the T's porting is taller. I am guessing the Type 4 allowed it to rev a bit quicker giving it a much stronger feel. The T and type 4 would actually work pretty good, especially from mid all the way up.......... Probably a screamer......

Throw the X on there with the B and feel the difference.

Actually my 61x cylinder, type 4 on a stock bore and stock jets hit real good; Crabs and my boat felt real close in power. On a side note I didn’t know it had stock jets until I had my carbs rebuilt.

The ski he's considering is stronger than my '06 - bottom to top. It has more compression and nicer carbs/manifold.
