Type 4 pipe mounting, and stinger modifications

so I got this pipe, and Kennay said something about shortening the stinger to make it easier to install.

thats GOOD, since the stinger got deformed in shipping.

will it hurt or change the performance of the pipe if I trim 3/4" off of the stinger tube? ( its like 5 inches long...)

that sounds labor intensive.
IM LAZY.

ok cool, I didnt want to try and straighten it, and it looks to be a Beeyotch to try and collect damages from DHL...

Ill just shorten it.

I would take a socket or something the same size and open it back up and peen until its back in shape.

One time I bought a pet turtle off of the internet and paid for next day delivery. They sent the package to the wrong hub/warehouse and the turtle ended up dieing. I tried ot file a claim because it took them two days to deliver instead of overnight. Wel lthey told me the person who shipped the box had to file the claim. So good luck there because if you ask me, that was poor packing! In my case the lady at the pet shop said they had a clause with DHL that if an animal died in transit they got 100 bucks. Well it was DHL's cault the turtle died because it was winter time and I assume the warehouse was cold. Plus they delivered in two days instead of overnight. I had to file a claim with my credit card to get my money back. I was getting screwed on both sides by the pet shop and DHL.

yes, thats why I said its not worth messing with.

claim has to be filed by the shipper ( not me) at the original hub location.
So, Ill have to ship it back, wait, rely on someone else to do something about it.

not worth the hassle IMO.

How would you think it would change the performance? Cut it back to almost flush with the jacketed area and run the sum bitch.

I'd trim it to the jacketed area, you will see why when you install it. Had it been any steeper of an angle with my rn waterbox, I would have cut it some more. Crammit actually did the cutting if it makes you feel any better.

Truth be told, the only reason the stinger got cut slightly on Kenneth's pipe was because that's what it took to fit in the box I had. I'm not kidding. Took off about an inch. I still have it if someone wants to buy it. Make me an offer.:mischievous:

I looked at it with a fleshlight tonight.

I can cut past the deformed part, and have plenty left to connect to.

Now, for the lord mounts for the top.

Ive got the ADA head adapter, but I have no other reference for the lord mounts or hardware for the head mount.

and YES... I know I didnt say flashlight.

Man, I cant believe you can mail order pets over there, let alone turtles...I was waitig for a punch line!

I'd cut that stinger down for sure, you'l still get the restrictive/resonance effect from the smallest part on the stinger end, and cutting it shorter won't change the diameter, unless you're cutting it back up to where the chamber is!

Worst case scenario, you bust out the tig and weld a bit of tube back on.

Did you not like the pipe charles? ( the type 4)

thats actually pretty daym funny you cut it to simply fit in the box.. hehehe
