ultra copper RTV instead of exhaust mani gasket?

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ca...+RTV+silicone+gasket+maker&brandName=Permatex
okay i took the exhaust of my 650sx and was wondering if it was okay to use the ultra copper RTV instead of getting a paper gasket for it? also waht type of gasket material should i use for my carb? there are like 3 diffrent kinds and was wondering which would be ideal to use for the base and if using rtv in conjuction with said home made gasket would be a good idea? here are the materials of gasket that i ahve available at my local autozone
1. rubber and cellulose gasket material sheet
2. rubber and fiber gasket material sheet
3. cork and rubber gasket material sheet
4. cork gasket material sheet
So waht would you guys reccomend i use? i was trying to just get it ready so i can start learning to ride the damn thing since its warming up quite fast now. thanks!

Depending on which gasket you're talking about, the SBT gaskets may or may not be wire reinforced but if it's supposed to be reinforced, it will be. Doesn't really matter what you use on the carb gasket (provided it seals but carb gaskets are like $2-$3 anyway) but everything with the exhaust needs some reinforcement. If you reuse gaskets, I would spray some permatex copper spray on it but I wouldn't do that to a new gasket.

I re-use old gaskets and coat them with RTV Copper. If the gasket is in good shape it works fine. You can re-use the front cover gasket, exhaust manifold and ex head pipe (the one thats $6 from FP) gaskets this way. Never re-use crank seals and for carbs just buy new ones there cheap.

okay cool! thanks ill get on that order then.kinda wish i would have saved the exhaust mani one though.....ill just order me like 4 or five carb ones then. do you guys remove the carb for each jetting change? since im going to be jetting my 650 i didnt know how you guys did it. thanks again for the info! also any suggestions on jetting for my 650sx? i was told 2.0N/S with black spring for correct popoff but im not sure on the main jet and pilot jet.
