UMI bearing replacement

Does anyone happen to know for sure what bearings the new top stop model UMI steering setups use? I would like to order some new ones, and I won't be home for about another week to tear into mine. Not sure if they are different, but this one came from UMI new back in April. Thanks!

Damn need them already! I emailed UMI and had them send me a set, it was pretty reasonable if I remember right.

Think they are the same, get stainless though. Can someone verify the size?

The following part numbers are for the bearings used in the Accusteer WaveBlaster steering system. If you can, pay the difference for some Chinese Stainless bearings. With these bearings the cases are stainless and you can reduce the concerns about rusting of the bearing cases which will cause discoloring in the hull and the headache to clean and replace a rusty bearing.

They are made in china crap bearings,it said so right on the bearings,sorry I do not know the size.

my UMI doesnt have bearing its has hardend plastic bushings... older setup?? better or worse?

Years back I replaced them on my top stop. I just ordered the UMI rebuild kit and they fit.

We have a bearing supply store here in town. Next time I am going to them and getting stainless ones with the more expensive seals.


When you do get your bearings, pop the little seals off of them and pack them full of marine grease. That may get you a few more rides out of them.
