Anyone have any information on the angled or straight umi throttle? What are the benefits of using one over the other? What do you prefer

I like the angled, but it's all personal preference. It's like asking what's the best beer. You'll get 20 different answers from 20 people. I'd recommend meeting up with some riders and putting your hands on their bars. See what you like.

Basically what smoofers said.

I personally didn't like the angled over straight and also the way umi's hooked at the end of the throttle.

I have both UMI types on two different skis snd like them both. I would go with the angled if I had to pick. The single finger throttles are very nice if you don't have a touch of carpal tunnel because they have less leverage.

I believe I have a UMI angled and it's ok. I also have a Blowsion straight pull and am used to it so I'll go back to it this year and see if it still feels better to me, but what I did notice is the straight pull would stop flat to the grip. The angled one I had to adjust a good bit to get it close to flat on the grip. It still stays about 3/8" off the grip, I'm not keen on this as I don't want to break my cable. At least with Blowsion lever it would max out and still not stress the cable ends. That's just my experience though with what I have. My cable is stretched too, it's original from '96.
