I will try to make a long story short.
I bought a 93 sn all stock I then swapped in a 61x motor all stock and it ran better but still did not seem right I then looked at the impeller and it was the stock alluminum impeller beat to . I then found a good deal on a skat 9-17 so i installed it on the stock 701 and wow what a difference it was great it hooked hard and completly changed the machine I was very happy. Looking for more power I tore down the engine to check everything out and it was in great shape so I just brought my cylinder to my engine builder and had him do a freestyle port job and bump the compression to match. So I reinstalled engine and install riva rev box at the same time and went to the lake to see how the new power felt. Well the motor sounds great and you can tell it wants to rip but it seems like the impeller is just not hooking up so I was hoping someone could expalin to me what the #'s mean on impeller pitch I have read hundreds of post on here and all they talk about is what works for them but it is very confusing as one guy will have a 9-15 and talk about how it is the best ever and the next guy will have almost exactly the same engine setup and run a 13-17 and say it is the best so it really does not help to read those post I would much rather learn what the numbers mean and how they effect the low end and top end response also how a close combo of say 15-17 reacts vs a large spread of say 9-17. I am sure that somewhere in these post this is already explained but I have not found it so if you know of links I am happy to read.
