US Composites

Did a search to figure out where to buy my resin and hardener, and found that most are buying the epoxy resin and hard. from US composites. I was wondering what you guys bought? Like did you get the thin, or thick system? Also, what size kit should i get for doing footholds on my SJ? Thanks alot, just don't want to order the wrong stuff, then have to wait longer!

I'm not an expert at all, but I don't think so ???? That stuff has to be mixed as close to perfect as possible. I think you're going to want to manually mix it.

Ok... so if i get the quart, and it comes with the hardener, do i just mix all of both together. Like is the bottles already measured if you use it all at once?

you are suppose to run out of both at the same time, thus if you mix both together you it should be the correct ratio... but you don't want to do that... you'll be wasting sooooo much product...

just get some measuring cups, or purchase the pumps with the product you are purchasing.

Yeah, i'm just lazy, so i was just gonna do it like that. Maybe i will just get two of the small ones that way i can just mix it all at once. Plus if you run out of them both at the same time, that will reduce the chances of mixing improperly.

do a little by little... and only use what you need.. If you got the fast cure.. its gonna set up fast.. if your not quick enough...the misture that you have in the bucket could be rock hard allready...

I think for my footholds i ended doing it in 2 batches ( but laid down the 2nd layer before the 1st one was dry)

in this pic is what was left.. im holding it up with the stick !

you'll be wasting money if you mix all up at once especially if it is your first time working with glass... take our advice or you'll be sorry... how hard is it to use small disposable measuring cups? don't worry about mixing improperly.

the most accurate way to measure parts is to use a scale but cups work also.

might be easier for you got to west marine if here is one near you.

the sell the epoxy resin and hardener in the stores along with the cups to measure...

they are more pricey, but with us composites, your gonna get hit with 20 something bucks on shipping.

most local paint and body shop supply houses around here do not sell epoxy resin, only polyester.

MX, spend 10.00 and get the pumps, it makes it really easy, no measuring needed.
