Using a iPad to edit HD GoPro files ???

Has anyone done this before? I was thinking of getting a ipad. I actually need something else that can support my HD editting then what I have now. My processing speed makes it impossible to view in the edit mode. Was curious if anyone has had anyluck using only a ipad to edit video in any editting program. I have a external storage backup so the memory shouldn't be the issue.
Any thoughts?

If you just need basic editing like trimming and combining clips you can do that on Youtube now. http://www.youtube.com/editor Why should I buy new hardware when it's out there and free? If you want to do titles make a title clip and upload it. After you get your finished clip delete the originals or change the privacy on them.

I don't think you can connect hardware to an ipad. Unless you are planning on storing the data on a wifi hard drive, don't know how it would work. Does imovie work with ipad? If it were me, I'd get a macbook. You can get one off the apple website refurbished for a lot less than new with warranty.

ive never done it with an ipad and i dont belive it has a usb or memory card port.

but if u buy a mac Imovie and Final cut are really powerful video editing programs.

I have a mac and have both imovie and final cut. Make sure if you go the final cut route, use the express version UNLESS you have a VERY powerful computer and a ton of memory. While final cut pro is awesome, it is a professional level software and is very time consuming. For the average guy, express is a much better option. For just general editing, you can't beat imovie for its simplicity.
