SX/SXi/SXi Pro Variable exit nozzle?

Was at my buddies working on a bunch of skis and as we were cleaning out a shed and moving stuff around we I found this exit nozzle that is supposed to kit the Kawi 750 I bought off of him. Looks pretty cool, just wondering if anyone has seen one, who made it, and what the benefits of such a nozzle would be.

Seems like it would be too complicated to use in any other application other than racing and top speed runs without being automatic. Plus you'd have to sacrifice trim.

yea, there is prob a good reason why it never became popular. From the looks of it it couldn't have been a cheap piece, and i don't really see a use for it, but ill try it out and let everyone know what I think of it.

I remember a racer back in the day who tried out one of those things. Problem was the variance was too great. The spread between a good bottom end a good mid/top may only be 2mm. That thing as I remember had like 10mm of diameter change. Theoretically its the right thing to do but in practice it fell short. It just needs some re-engineering.
