@SuperJETT something of this format, giving each vendor there own sub forum. Maybe this is where you can generate revenue like $100 a year for vendors?

Might be a good idea. There is already an option for buying a vendor account. But a dedicated section would be pretty cool. My only question is who would you consider a vendor? Does it have to be a larger name or just anybody can buy into it?

People with a legitimate business. So parts suppliers and hull builders. Not people like the buzzard who just accumulate parts and sell them off slowly. It just would make it easier for people to find their stuff and not sift through tons of parts for sale ads to find the one they want from the specific vendor.
Some vendors would be for that, but others may not like it because their threads wouldn't be in the normal forums so when users are browsing their threads would be overlooked. New visitors to the site may not know to look in subforums...

Another possible feature would be to link in the seller reviews and their product reviews as a one stop shop for new buyers.

While we'd like to think that, it's not always the case. We continually get new users that sign up that just post in the first forum they see, have older users that find out 2 years later that we have **name a forum** and had 'never seen it before', people that never knew we had a 'new posts' link, and on and on.
My main hangup on this is that it would expand the number of forums we have greatly and setting permissions properly/etc all falls back on me.

If I am looking for someone specific, I either call them, email, visit their website, etc. And I hope the same goes for others. If people want to find me to order parts, etc, I am pretty easy to track down.
"IF" I were to have a specific forum I have to now answer / reply to here, it makes more work for me, especially when I am busy during the "ON" season. Now, if I do not replay fast enough, people think I am rude, dissing them, etc. This is EXACTLY why I do not accept PM's here. I participate on many forums, I was getting emails, PM's, and replies to posts, all from the same people all at once. Many times all the same question. So now, I have to answer your email, log into PM's and answer that, and answer a post, all about the same subject. Take this times 50 people lets say, it it makes 3 times more work for one person....
Don't get me wrong, I visit here every day. I try to help with technical advise, answer wanted ads, and occasionally will post some parts for sale. BUT I do this as I have time.....

All other forums I am on have a vendor section. Maybe we don't have a big enough following to make it worth it though

I'm with Jett, I don't think it's worth the hassle, for the same reason it's not worth maintaining a website. I paid website hosting fees for two years and only netted three sales from it and two of those sales came from x-h2o members. Plus, OCD is a side gig. I work a full time and sometimes very demanding job so the current system allows me to advertise accordingly. Sometimes I just don't have the time for OCD so I can let it fade into the background and just run on word of mouth and repeat customers.
I do have a Facebook page though which details my products and projects in a better fashion if you like to browse pics.
