Viton vs Standard Needle and Seat - What's the diff?

Obviously this is the material that the tip of the needle is made of, but why would you run one over the other? Are they for different applications? Most places have them listed at the same price so I assume one isn't just generally better then the other.

I need to get a new n/s for my stock 61x on account of a b-pipe and I am wondering what type I should go with and also why there are two different kinds?

my understanding is that the viton seals better and doesnt 'dent' as easily.

Yep... Viton is a synthetic rubber that seals better then a metal to metal contact.
