Ha nice thread kyle.

This is my ski. So far its one hell of project for a fiberglass noob. Hull was in pretty rough shape with a few holes and cracks but its coming along. Figured since it needs so much work, it would be a waste to not give it a makeover. Before kyle showed up We reinforced the entire bottom deck and patched some holes on the inside of the engine compartment.

Parts thus far:
61x/760 single carb
Pro-design girdled head (180psi)
Factory b pipe
Worx 201 grate
Jet dynamics ride plate
SN-RN pole bracket
Skat Trak 14/17
Toby Footholds

To be purchased/ needed:
Handpole- Aluminum, preferably tubular
turn plate
riser bars
Possibly a CATs ghetto trim setup
Waterbox- RN or tdr
Different pitch prop?(suggestions needed)
Make a hoodliner, pole limiter, hood straps, front and rear hooks, front foot hold
More expensive resin
more beer.

This is my first ski build so any input or advise is appreciated. Ive learned a lot from browsing the X but i can always use new knowledge.

Eh, actually not too much. Swapped Hulls in my B1, fixed some cracks and got that sqaured away.

As for the superjet, I reinforced the entire engine compartment and the sides/bottom of the bottom deck. After i finished the B1 i started the sanding process on the bottom, which hasnt been fun. That West Systems epoxy is hard :):):):)!

Anyone want to recommend ways to get the hood smooth and strong. I was told to use 18oz Biax, but is that for the final layer?

Nice m3

As for getting a nice flat surface sand sand sand and you can use resin mixed with microballoons for filler. I even used flower as filler because it was cheap and what i had on hand.

Thanks, as you can tell it doesnt get the garage privileged, notice all the chevy merch around haha.

At this point the hood has one layer of glass on it over the foam so should i sand through the glass then fill, sand then reglass and repeat? Ive only worked with fiberglass once prior and that was to put in my footholds. Im getting the hang of it but havent done much for shaping and finish work. Although i used to do autobody.

and the whole bundle. The b1 hull is FS

2 things to update:

Either progress will be at a hault for a while due to excessive damage to my house and many other assets as a result of hurricane sandy.

Or I if I can I want to sell the hill and hold as an unfinished project. Then part out everything I have. If anyone is interested or would know someone who wants it please let me know.

For $300 Obo u get a 91 sn hull with paperwork, Toby footholds installed, new turf, tray pad, dakine strap, fully reinforced with West Systems epoxy resin modded as seen (pretty much finished needs Small amount of sanding and paint) and the chopped and lowered hood.
