SX/SXi/SXi Pro Water in Engine Compartment

Yesterday I went for my first ride on my new (to me) 95 750 SXi. I'm hooked and will be out again this afternoon. I found lots of advice on the porpoising problem and will be working on that.

Mods on the ski are: Factory pipe, rejetted carbs, primer pump, Worx ride plate, grate (R&D I think), and Skat sumthin prop? Also I have an RPOT engine cover. I have the oem engine cover, but it won't fit because the F pipe hits the air inlet tubes.

Questions are:
1. Whats the normal amount of water to have in the engine compartment?
2. Does this ski have (stock) an eductor or bilge pump?
3. Can I modify the hood to get the air inlet tubes down low, or some other way to protect the engine from hydro lock?
4. How much water can you swallow before you explode?
Thanks.

keep the water outside

Glad to hear your having fun

there is a stock manual (vacuum) bilge as stock, most people put a Rule 500 electric bilge, mounted near driveshaft.

Do searches in general forum, for hood mods.

Even if you ingest water, it's a 2 stroke is 'no biggy', 1. dock ski, 2. remove plugs, 3. turn ski upside down, 4. hit start until most water is out, 4. go ride again.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered a scupper that is supposed to be real good. I forgot the name but it is a spring loaded disc that goes on the the left rear sponson. I plan on setting the ski up for subbing and was told this would be a good way to get the water out. What do you think, maybe a Rule 500 too?
