Super Jet waterbox + fiberglass = leak

well I was out surfiding the other day, and after a hard landing, the ski sounded funny, but was working just fine, then just dies, get back to shore and fire it up, runs fine, but smoking like hell, so pulled my tank out today to find this, half of the water box has been fiberglassed! So now I need to grind it off, and weld the hole shut, and then not put the foot back on and just put some turf under it

Carbon fiber wont work on aluminum. Epoxy and glass is very good for repairing thin aluminum. Make a mount with EVA floor foam and superglue.

once i used jb weld on my brothers school project. totally overkill, a stick of glue would of worked fine but i didnt want to go to the store.

I was going to use a hot glue gun to fix it, do you think that will hold?

Really, this is how I got it, I didnt even know it was like that until I pulled the tank out. I'm having someone weld it up for me this week so it should be back to normal.

make sure to paint it with cheap spray paint, then put turf on but only in the areas it definitely will not contact the hull ftw!!!
