Blaster Waveblaster 2 Help !!!!

Hey Guys I am posting this problem due to it being a complete Headache for a Friend of Mines WB2. We have been on dozens of water test ect trying to get this problem right.

The PROBLEM is that the ski is a dog out of the Gate, it just Bogs till it Hooks up than it Moves great at WOT. You cant seem to let sit and Idle and than Hit the Throttle and expect to just "Take Off." I called Bubba From Riva he told me to change the Jets for the Build 130 Main and 120 Pilot 1.5 Needle Seat 115Kg spring . Still having the problem and literally adjusted the Air/Mixture Screws every way we could and doing a lot of Trial and Error.

Build is Simply Limited, Stock Motor on Rebuild, R&D Angled Reed Spacer, Carbon Tech Reeds, Riva Girdled Head (185Psi), Riva Pipe, Solas Prop Pitch Unknown, With Riva Adapters and Arrestors.

Anybody who can lend it hand would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to have him make it to Brigantine Beach Bash in New Jersey this Weekend, Thanks!

Make sure that your check valve for the gas tank is good. I'm running a stock wb2 motor in my standup and was battling a bad check valve for a bit. I also opened the low speed screws 2 turns out for my application. I plan to rejet, but its running good now

What evidence did you come up with when you found that problem that is was your check valve? I adjusted the low speed numerous times and am still at the drawing board. I know somebody had to have this same problem and can be corrected.

Have you rebuilt your carbs?
Have you checked Pop-Off, this could be part of your issue......... Not getting fuel off idle.

Drop pop-off to 20psi. This helps even an otherwise stock WB2 launch harder.

I forget what the Pop Off Pressure was supposed to be. I did rebuild the Carbs, tediensly ! If I'm not mistaken POP maybe was around 40-50 on that setup. I will have to call Bubba Again Tomorrow and see what he could tell me. He originall told me to go with a 2.3 Needle Seat and than a 1.5 same spring....That difference would change the POP though.

When I would take the gas cap off, no pressure would release. Also If i blew into it to pressurize the tank it wouldn't hold long. I sprayed soapy water to find the leak and it was coming back out of the check valve. Replaced and that issue is gone. Still need to check my internal filters but it runs pretty good.

Get rid of the reed spacer for starters, they decrease inlet signal. You need to trust me on this one, while it may not totally eliminate your issue, its going to def help.

That was my next initial thought, I was going to call R&D and dig for info. I called my buddy Carl at protec and he told me do def take that 120 Pilot out down low. It's loading up to much and need to Run a 115 Pilot which is a stock jet for a Waveblaster. I am going to try that first with some fine tuning and water testing and hope it solves the problem. I will def let you know how I make out with this and Thanks!

There's a guy just started parting out a B2 on pwctoday in parts section .....fyi.

If its the Green 97 From Texas I talke to him already. He's shipping me some stuff already. However is it is NOT that and its a yellow one Let me know please , Thanks!

My B1 had this issue, check valve was backwards and the gas filter was collged with hair and stock air box will do it everytime

Ok Update.....Had the One Way Check Valve upside down, when re doing the fuel line, my error. I returned the Stock Pilot Jet (115) to the carbs and took out the (120) the ski def runs better mid Rpms ect . Still have a little bit of bogging down bottem, however its way better than it was. Im going to water test and tune the low speeds and see if I can get it right.

Really don't want to throw away the $100 that is costed to just try it. I want to see if I can get it right before I go digging .
