wax factory pipe manifold

If this is the wrong section for exhaust questions please move or direct me to the right place

I am putting together a factory pipe for my new setup and i am interested in using the wax manifold and head pipe but i am wondering if the lack of cast in cooling is an issue on more of a rec boat. Is that something i should stay away from on a b1 that does a lot of boat chasing and general recreational riding?

The new setup is going to be a 781 jetmaniac with a mod chamber and dual 38's.

You should be running dual 46's on that setup. Wax worked with one of the industries leading exhaust builders in the design of the headpipe and manifold for maximum ponies. So should be good. :)

i guess i was mainly concerned if the lack of cooling was going to be an issue, im all for more power. and as far as the carbs go, dual 38s is what the shop doing my work wanted to use, i dont have a preference as long as it hits hard and runs good

I havnt seen the Wax exhaust, Im not sure what your concern is. Your 38s will require more of a tug on the throttle before the pipe hits. Then the acceleration will be a little less than with a pair of 44s or 46s. I like 44s but I know that no rider will settle for any less than a 46 since the price is so similar.

There’s more power from running the manifold hotter which is great and I’m not questioning wax’s r&d, more making sure it’s a good fit on my setup before I order it.
I was wondering if the extra heat was something that could only be ran in short bursts

ie: 2-3 minute freestyle routine vs say a 20-30 minute playful cruise to the hangout spot.

I’m gathering it’s not enough extra heat to affect general ride-ability.

As far as carbs go I can change it up however I wanted to buy what freestyle connection wanted to use and I was very happy with how he set up and dialed in my 61x

The 38's will be great and the engine will have nice throttle response. But you are missing out on a good amount of HP choking that big bore with baby carbs. :)

Manifold will be fine for full throttle runs/racing.

Yeah I don’t disagree on missing out on some power.

It’s a delicate balance but we were trying to keep fuel consumption in mind since I go on some longer rides so I have to sacrifice something unfortunately. Can’t have all the power and great fuel economy
